the bar area and restaurant was modern and newly decorated

the room was a decent size and clean, the staff very welcoming and attentive, the bar downstairs serves excellent ale and the gardens have a lovely view of the canal

the view from my room was lovely and it was very quiet away from the noise of the bar area

really, as with everywhere a double & coke from the bar costs enough to put off buying another - but that's anywhere these days

wonderful hosts offering well priced drinks dinner and breakfast

booked 2 bedrooms for our family of 4 (kids 10 and 14) the bedrooms were very comfortable and a good size for the price

very accommodating in the bar in the evening

we needed a beer bottle opener and neither of us had brought one so they collected one from the bar for us to use

everything was first class - the bar served excellent real ales

small grumble was the bar closed at 10pm on the sunday and we didn't finish dinner until 9:45 pm, so no time for a drink

the waiters, waitresses, bar staff were also brilliant

all of the staff we encountered were efficient and polite from the manager, the bar man and waiting staff in the restaurant

restaurant and separate breakfast area were very comfortable and beautifully decorated
