chose to stay at the grand mayan water hotel to be close to my friends who were staying at an all inclusive resort nearby, while

we were used to from royal service at another resort- we had great service from bartender at our pool, butler at bali bed, but majority of all other service was very disappointing

job of clearing seaweed from the beach - rooms very nice- outdoor shower, indoor jacuzzi, outdoor pool - food better than most all inclusive, but not gourmet - food and service at generations

we could not use the room for 2 hours each day during the stay and had to use the spa toilet which was inconvenient

you needed a reservation for all dinner restaurants or you were stuck ordering room service which was very limited and the menu did not change
