we had a wonderful afternoon at carey's manor spa which wasn't far and was included with our stay

the restaurant was closed and the food in the bar was pretty poor as was breakfast which was also understaffed

but one of 3 self-contained units, including kitchen/self-catering facilities in a ground floor barn conversion with a thatched roof

2/ entry / exit to the pub from the garden means having to go via a narrow section of the bar where locals congregate for a drink

liked the late check out, although we left very early, the radio was on with some nice jazz in the room when

it’s a hotel in a pub but the bedrooms are a fair way from the bar so there’s no evening noise to disturb the children

whole stay at the hotel in southampton we were satisfied with accommodations, hotel service and room service

to me wjen they talked and from upstairs ceiling squeaked everytime they moved about and they had kids with them

bed was a bit uncomfortable and our room was quite noisy at night which made it difficult for our kids to sleep

luckily the family with young kids upstairs bedded down earlier so the noise didn't continue and disturb us

there is easy car parking, 1gbt wifi, an honesty bar and terrace for summer morning breakfasts

parking at the front is small however, additional parking elsewhere

we particularly loved the lounge area with self serve bar - it created a great atmosphere and felt like we were entertaining in our own home

only negative was the location on a hill, but with parking available near the entrance it was alright unless you had mobility problems
