we found the overall independent, non-corporate/chain feel of the hotel charming, and the bar staff at the connected restaurant was very friendly

it's super-spiffy, with lots of amenities (pool, gym, mail room, etc), and the studio apartment is terrifically laid out, including a stove,

the pool on the roof was spectacular and our kids loved it
