place is a little gem, ev chargers which are super fast, a lovely family local pub feel with exceptional home cooked food-

location and easy parking

we had breakfast and an evening meal during our stay and the food was exceptional

they’re literally on the golf course so people will be outside when you open the door to walk to the above mentioned shower

there was a hedge maze, crazy golf and butterfly zoo 3 mins drive away and boat trips nearby

right on the river and easy walking distance to restaurants, pubs, cafes, butterfly farm, crazy golf, canoeing and walking

the rooms above the bar can be a little noisy up until closing time.

the bar closed at 10 pm so we had to encroach on a line dancing class so we could use their bar

the hotel is very clean, it has a bar and a restaurant (we didnt use) it has a beautiful garden which we had a couple of drinks in

we stayed for a golf competition at s local golf course and could not have been treated better

disabled access is good on the ground floor, gardens and parking, and as the hotel does not have a lift due to it's listed status, the staff found us a room

locals who attend the golf club bar made a few strange comments to me but the bar staff were really great about talking

we don't actually play golf, but for those that do, it's an ideal accommodation and location

location was brilliant due to the fact we were going to a funeral and having a brilliant breakfast to go with it helped as well, as it was all day

hotel was providing free room service because of covid so we were able to have breakfast in bed every day

we were visiting for a funeral and the owners were very accommodating with sorting an early check in

we were contacted before arrival and were able to organise an early check in for 1 pm which was really helpful

we walked to the shops and were glad to view a train so area is good for kids as well as those wanting to cycle in the forest

early check in from 10am which was approved but when arrived at property, no one on site and no

check in check out, and the adjoining rooms were great for the kids

the staff here from the gm to the reception, bar and restaurant team were all young but extremely professional

breakfast in the first morning was a bit hit and miss but this was due to some confusion over

comfortably complete all my work for the day) and there to have been clearer direction to the gym (at 7pm i was too tired to search or ask someone for direction) (-) i did think the gym was a little small and would have benefited from more space and a bit of a (-)lack of facilities - pool, gym, etc (-)gym is tiny and was very hot (it was a hot day) (-)the 'fitness suite' left a little to be desired - one multi-gym frame and a treadmill (-) tiny gym- only room for 1 person (or i guess a couple) and no floor space- plus needed to book a time to (+) good do with a lick of paint and some carpets and a shame i didn t renown i had to book the gym (-)the gym (-) the gym facilities were not the best (-) this is not a fitness suite and we actually specifically booked this hotel as it appeared the gym would suit our purposes

room was a little in need of a clean and wifi non existent

were initially given room 2 which was lovely however we could hear the fan in the kitchen which was pretty loud

particularly soundproof, walls needed a lick of paint and the wifi didn t really work

warm welcome, nice bar and restaurant, had our evening meal there very good food and service

staff were most welcoming when we arrived late, sadly too late to sample the cooking in the kitchen, but that was our fault

staff were friendly and helpful, especially the gym staff and one of the kitchen staff, she couldn't do enough

we also used jacuzzi, swimming pool and gym, we loved it

old lodge is such a lovely place in the middle of a common with a golf course around it
