was put in the master suite with air spa bath … second stay food service and room impeccable

location near the river, ideal for the fishermen plus the ramblers, we were playing golf at clitheroe golf club which about 4 miles away from the hotel

some of the bar staff are very young but there were so tentative and welcoming

we had breakfast the next morning which was the same standard with as much toast as you could eat

although a tuesday night, the restaurant and bar were very busy

had a fabulous stay - the staff are so friendly and accommodating, the room was beautiful, the bar area is very welcoming and the beer garden by the river has beautiful views

the bar food is also excellent with plenty of choices available and reasonably priced

helpful for early check in and lift broke and we got stuck in there for about 20 minutes and had to climb out

however, this wasn't a big issue and we watched things on our phones instead as wifi was very fast

character filled accommodation and everything just works - whether it be reception, scenery, car parking, security, quality of breakfast, furnishings, wi-fi, information ref local attractions,

clean, traditional and full of character. lovely kitchen and walk in shower.

what we wanted, the location was fantastic, and the bar was very reasonably priced, just a base while going to an event at the piece hall

the self-service breakfast had a reasonable choice - crumpets, yoghurts, fruit, lots of preserves

breakfast was very easy as we were leaving early so we had a key for the breakfast room to help
