we liked a lot spa procedures

all started with the outstanding location of the douro palace hotel & spa, it's a 10 min (if that much) taxi

spa on saturday was very crowded.

spa is very comfortable, and i was alone both times i went (morning and evening)

spa is too dark, with no windows and it could be full of people easily because it is a little

limited parking at the hotel however there was plenty of space in the quiet roads alongside

we loved exploring the grounds, with a pool, tennis courts and swings and meeting the donkey in the forest

breakfast and dinner was served in the apartment which was great with our 2 small kids

the quinta is also very well maintained with a great swimming pool, great gardens and vines

the rooms were very nice, cosy and clean, friendly dogs around the property were gr8 fun for our kids

lack of showers and changing rooms in the spa area

the use of wood and natural materials truly make it a natural wellness and spa resort

the activity programme was excellent (cooking classes, wine tours, spa treatments), the staff has been trained
