amazing bar area, loved the pool room

food was delicious, both in tine restaurant and breakfast

everything...the views the food the well mannered staff..the bar the gardens..

the waiter was lovely as was the bar man

i ate at the bar both evenings and the food was excellent

use of the pool included with overnight stay

pool was a little dirty in the bottom in all the corners

we enjoyed using the swimming pool sauna and steam room very relaxing

bonus was free access to the fitness and pool/spa facilities on site

the gym,pool and sauna facilities are great

we even made use of the spa which was very nice also

few miles outside of barnard castle

would be good to have the food open for longer in the evening or an option for room service

would have taken advantage of the spa too which looked lovely if we had time but sadly didn't have

the breakfast amazing and again staff so friendly thank you

the venue itself is in a beautiful location, and i couldn’t fault the cooked english breakfast the following morning

character filled accommodation and everything just works - whether it be reception, scenery, car parking, security, quality of breakfast, furnishings, wi-fi, information ref local attractions,

bed and fantastic shower room, tea and coffee making facilities also provided along with free wifi

access was available either through reception or from the rear, which was convenient from the car parking area

parking was a bit tight

enjoyed using spa this time , pool was especially good

lovely spa (but note 'thermal journey' - no pool)

richmond, leyburn, forbidden corner, staff very friendly, great to stay in budget hotel with a pool, and gym room very comfortable, and good value for price paid

nice but it is advisable to prebook as spaces for treatments are limited, and even use of the pool etc

leisure facilities could do with a upgrade the pool was ok but slightly cold and the jacuzzi was cold with cold water jets, not something i have
