at least that is my suspicion, they could have been exchanging little bags of laundry soap or baking sugar for cash, also they were sleeping in the stairwell, so must have been

i didn't like that the pool wasn't open

i had to yell just to return my room key, even after the staff could clearly hear my kids and us talking as they got quieter with their conversation in the back
