porto moniz is beautiful - swim in the lava pools if you can, if not watch the amazing waves with a glass of

close to town, the beautiful park (which has a great playground for kids) view of the sea and the gardens are
however the hotel has its own restaurant which is handy and an over the bridge pool, with kids facility
we booked the hotel specifically for a heated pool so we could swim regularly and kids could spend time playing

the pool is cold and usually filled with kids - even in the jacuzzi where there's a warning explicitly saying
