the bar had closed unexpectedly early on tuesday (9th april) night - we missed our brandy!!! :-)

booked on one day because they were fully booked however we stayed there all evening and the bar and restaurant were empty

our room was over the bar area and there was a small amount of low level noise from the bar,

bar can get a bit noisy around 6 pm so best to eat in restaurant

welcome by reception bar staff, room was ready on arrival

member of the bar staff was surly and rude

good food in the bar great breakfast stunning views over the peak district

was spectacular - amazing scenery , amazing sunset and sunrise, our room was immaculate - the bar was lovely we had food on saturday after a 26 mile trek for alzheimer’s and food was amazing-

inviting bar with log fires

had a lovely, relaxing weekend at the barrel inn
