parking ok host excellent

it does have a bar which isn't apparent straight away mostly filled with locals but a good atmosphere

great place to stay, room very comfortable and breakfast was great. only problem was parking.

i had the traditional full breakfast the next morning and just a salmon starter the night before

we ate in the bar and the food was delicious

the room was comfortable and very clean, it had a dedicated room wifi router

all clean, info on local area in bedroom, each room had own wifi and app to control the room temp

couple of years ago we decided to actually stay for the weekend as a welcome break from the kids and now look forward to it every year

we were able to have our dog with us in the conservatory & small bar area which was good, it would be nice to also have been able to sit in a part of the lounge

the location is excellent for playing golf and exploring the area

on my stay except for the really annoying family group that arrived and allowed their unruly kids to run a mock in the bar while they relaxed in another room

food excellent, spa bath blissful after hard walk

a question, they made us a packed lunch for our hike the next day, beer garden was good for the kids, staff were accommodating in leaving us some milk in the fridge overnight as we were up

quite a casual pub which was just what we needed as we were only staying for a hike and we had kids too so we didn't need a fancy hotel

the lady at reception was so welcoming same with staff behind the bar

nav took us to edinburgh road however it did not take us to our destination if you pull into the golf club, turn around and go back to the small roundabout, take the first left and rivendell is 2

i can highly recommended the casa mia restaurant 15 mins walk, nice walk past golf club & along the river
